VISION GROUP was developed in 1994 by a team of senior management and development professionals with national and international exposure in varied fields, with the mission of making a difference to our world, both within and outside India, through integration of THEORY and PRACTICE, and in the process becoming a powerful global entity in the Business of Knowledge and Action.

VISION GROUP has two legal entities:

The VISION FOUNDATION was established with the purpose of promoting Development Management as a new discipline of Management parallel to Business Management with a focus on Productivity & Result, measurable in terms of both Quantity and Quality.

The reality however has been that, human development has traditionally been managed by people with expertise in either one or few areas of activity, who understandably find it difficult to comprehend the mechanisms of Holistic Human Development.

There was therefore the need for developing a new body of knowledge/discipline and activity called Development Management, integrating all the relevant sub-systems of human development.

Coming from this paradigm, the VISION FOUNDATION For Development Management was established.

Since its inception in 1994, the foundation has been operating as a national philanthropy in India and is an independent, non-profit, nongovernmental organization. It has received grants in aid for its various community-based programs and operations from various Donors, including the World Bank and the World Food Programme, and from national government and public sector undertakings such as the Min. of Rural Development and Food Corporation of India etc. (read more on our Donors…….)

VISION FOUNDATION has implemented programmes in the areas of Alternative Livelihoods generation, Cooperatives Development, Slum Development, Environment, Education, Solid Waste Management and HIV/AIDS Prevention. (give link to ‘What We Do’ page)
